She was born Sept. 1, 1931, in Santa Monica. Mrs. Hutchens moved to Lodi in 1984. She was employed as a licensed psychiatric technician at Camarillo State Hospital and Agnew State Hospital. She married Earl Hutchens in 1996 in Lodi. She was a member of the Mended Hearts Inc., where she served as a former president of the Chapter 40 in Stockton, former assistant regional director and regional director. She was currently the National Vice President of Mended Hearts, and was instrumental in the foundation of the National Little Mended Hearts Inc. She was also a member of the Ila Neb Court No. 51 of the Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America, the TLC Unit of Ila Neb Court, Alicante Branch of Lodi Memorial Hospital and the Ladies of the Moose. She is survived by survived by her husband, Earl Hutchens, of Lodi; her sons, Michael Naumann, of Idaho and Don Naumann, of Cupertino; daughters, Carleen Smith, of Lake Elsinore and Leann Schaeffer, of San Jose; step-daughters, Nadene Herndon, of Fair Oaks and Sandy Hutchens, of Lodi; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. April 14 at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Alan Kimber officiating. Committal will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mended Hearts Inc., 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas 75231-4596. Gierhart-Wells & Donahue Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
