During World War II, she and her husband and children were ordered into internment camps along with 110,000 other persons of Japanese ancestry. After the family’s discharge in 1945 from the Tule Lake Relocation Center in the northern California desert, they moved to Lodi where the family owned and operated the 3 Aces Fish Market in downtown Lodi. In 1953, she moved away from Lodi and eventually settled in Palo Alto, California. In 1995, she returned to Lodi where she resided until her death. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kameichi, in 1976, and by three siblings. She leaves behind her children, Robert and Gladys Ikeda of Stockton, Sumiko and Don Anhorn of Eugene, Oregon, Margaret and Ryo Kono of Tokyo, Japan, and Noby and Susie Ikeda of Novato. Also surviving her are six grandchildren, five greatgrandchildren, an elder sister, Masako Ishihara of Elk Grove, a younger brother, Kaichiro Yuoka of Kobe, Japan and numerous nieces and nephews in Japan and the United States. No visitation. Inurnment at Cherokee Memorial Park. Memorial services will be held Sunday, November 12, at 3:00 p.m. at the Nichiren Buddhist Temple, 3570 Mona Way, San Jose, California.
