Helen Irwin

June 19, 1920 — Dec. 29, 2005

A graveside service will be today for longtime Tracy resident Helen Irwin, 85, 
who died Dec. 29, 2005 at Sutter Tracy Community Hospital.

A native of Marshall County, Iowa, Mrs. Irwin lived in Tracy for 73 years. She 
was an admissions clerk at Tracy Hospital for 12 years and then worked in 
billing insurance at Eaton Medical Group before retiring in 1994 when she was 
70 years old. She volunteered as an ombudsman for San Joaquin County, and was 
a member of Tracy First United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Irwin is survived by her husband of 67 years, Fredrick Irwin Sr. of 
Tracy; children, Shirley Starling, and her husband, Leroy, Fredrick Irwin Jr., 
and his wife, Bonnie, all of Tracy; grandchildren, Robert Dorman of Forney, 
Texas, Lester Hillman Jr. of Iron Station, N.C., Kristie Bender of Tracy, 
Fredrick Irwin III, and his wife, Charisse, of Bakersfield, Heather Johnson, 
and her husband, Gharret, of Oakdale; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Merrill F. West and Glenn West.

Today’s graveside service will begin at 10 a.m. at Tracy Cemetery, 600 E. 
Schulte Road. Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave., is handling arrangements.

Memorial donations in Mrs. Irwin’s name may be sent to the charity of the 
donor’s choice.
