A native of South Dakota, he came to Lodi in 1935 from Linton, N.D. He worked as a custodian for the high school from 1942 until his retirement in 1959. Krueg was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lodi where he was a deacon for six years and sang in the men’s choir. Survivors include his wife, Lydia Krueg; five sisters, Mrs. Christina Jahraus of South Dakota, Mrs. Lydia Bippus of Texas, Mrs. Carrie McGovern of Montana, Mrs. Helen Orth of Washington, and Mrs. Martha Kuhl of Washington; three sons, Al and Don of Lodi, and Major Ellery Krueg in Vietnam as a member of the U.S. Army; five daughters, Mrs. Alma Zimmerman of Lodi, Mrs. Florence Hugh of Lodi, Mrs. Emma Rabuson of Lodi, Mrs. Elsie Bader of Sacramento, and Mrs. Esther Bryant of San Leandro; 17 grandchildren, and seven great- grandchildren. Funeral services are pending at the Gierhard and Wells Funeral Home. Friends may make memorial donations to the First Baptist Church library fund.
