Krueg succumbs at 45 Lt. Col. Ellery G. Krueg, a former Lodi resident, now of Parkville, Mo., died Wednesday in Kansas City, Mo. after a short illness. He was 45. A native of Linton, N.D., he moved to Lodi with his parents at age four. He attended local schools and graduated from Lodi High School in 1948. Krueg attended Humphrey’s Business College in Stockton. In 1952, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and graduated from Officer’s Candidate’s School. He had tours of duty in Korea, Vietnam and Panama. He was married in 1969 in Missouri and retired from the Army in 1972. During his service, Krueg was awarded two Bronze Stars, the Purple Heart, Legion of Merit and three Air Medals as a parachutist. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Arlene Krueg of Parkville, Mo.; three sons, Edward J., John E. and Terry Krueg, all of Lodi; two grandchildren, two stepdaughters, Mrs. Kathleen Epperson of Blue Springs, Mo. and Mrs. Yvonne Canfield of Boston; four stepsons, John, Patrick, Norman and Mark Wood, all of Parkville, Mo.; two brothers, Albert and Donald Krueg of Lodi, and five sisters, Mrs. Esther Bryant, Mrs. Alma Zimmerman, Mrs. Emma Rabuson and Mrs. Florence Hugo, all of Lodi and Mrs. Elsie Bader of Sacramento. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the Lodi Funeral Home chapel with Rev. G.G. Rauser of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park with military honors under the auspices of the U.S. Army, Presidio of San Francisco.
