He was born on Oct. 30, 1922, in Artas, S.D., where he was raised. Mr. Krueg graduated from Linton High School in 1928. He served in the U.S. Army from 1932 to 1936. He moved to Lodi I 1936. He worked at Thornton Cannery. He married Martha Marie Bibelheimer on May 1, 1936, in Lodi. The couple resided in Lodi. They moved to Galt in 1944. He worked at the Ship Yards in Vallejo. He managed a dairy farm and continued the dairy business until 1957. He then moved to Franklin in 1945. He was employed with Montgomery Wards in Stockton until 1959 and then worked for Lodi Unified School District maintenance. He later became head custodian at Lodi High School. He retired on May 7, 1969. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church, past leader of the Ray School 4-H Club, past member of Farm Bureau and Poultry Producers Association. He enjoyed gardening and was a volunteer at Lodi Community Gardens. He is survived by his wife, Martha Krueg, of Lodi; two sons, Glenn Krueg and Dennis Krueg; daughter Diana Schmierer; brother, Donald Krueg of Lodi; five sisters, Esther Bryant, Alma Zimmerman, Emma Rabusin, Florence Hugo and Elsie Bader; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ellery Krueg; and grandson Dean Schmierer. A chapel service will be held at 10 a/m. Friday at Cherokee Memorial Park, Chapel of the Flowers, with Pastor Ray Hoffman and Pastor Wayne Bibelheimer officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Lodi Funeral Home. Contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund, Lodi.
