Born in Texas and raised in Merced, Mr. Lee lived in various towns before settling with his family in Tracy in 1962. He belonged to Operating Engineers Local 3 Union for 30 years before retiring in 1975. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Lee’s children and grandchildren will remember his tall tales and humorous songs. He will also be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Mr. Lee is survived by his wife of 51 years, Shirley Lee of Tracy; children, David Lee, and his wife, Nancy, of Lathrop, Betty June Anderson, and her husband, Marlon, of Stockton, Randy Lee and Stephanie Silva, and her husband, Manuel, all of Tracy; grandchildren, Joaquina Lee of Merced, Samantha Lee of Santa Barbara, Willy Prentice of Danville, Randy Lee of Stockton, Jake and Katie Lee of Reno, Nev., Joshua Lee, and his wife, Librada, of Manteca and David Lee-Jurado, Christina Deverall, and her husband, Mike, Amanda Silva, and her fiancé, Tony Benns, and Joseph Silva, all of Tracy; and great-grandchildren, Joshua and Isaiah Lee, both of Manteca. He is preceded in death by his parents, Garland and Minnie Lee; and siblings, Jimmy, Mack, Jack and Buddy Lee, and Marie Thompson.
