Lemos Feb. 6, 1914 — Feb. 3, 2006 Graveside services will be today for 42-year Long Barn resident Milton J. Lemos, 91, who died Friday in Tracy. Born and raised in Livermore, Mr. Lemos graduated from St. Michael’s Convent and Livermore High School. After graduating, he went to work for Cal-Nevada Power and Light Co. and moved to Bishop where he met and married Carroll J. Rau on Aug. 30, 1937, with whom he had three children. In 1945, he moved back to Livermore and went to work for Pacific Gas and Electric Co. where he worked as a lineman and then a trouble shooter for 20 years. Upon retirement, he moved to Long Barn where he worked full-time as a cowboy for Dick Amarine and later with Bill Ariola of Angels Camp. He retired from cowboying after eight years, at the age of 83. Mr. Lemos is survived by his wife of 68 years, Carroll J. Lemos of Long Barn; children, Claudia E. Lautenslager of Tracy and Lois M. Combs of Lancaster; nine grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Russell L. Lemos. Today’s graveside services will begin at 2 p.m. at St. Michael’s Cemetery, 3885 East Ave., in Livermore. Contributions in Mr. Lemos’ name may be sent to Sutter VNA and Hospice Foundation, 4600 S.
