He was the beloved husband of Frances Lagorio of Stockton. Devoted father of Lynne Lagorio of Stockton and the late Greg Lagorio. Loving step-father of Michael Bergman and wife, Ilona of Auburn and William Bergman and wife Sharla of Stockton. Dear grandfather of Michael R. Bergman, Lori Lima Dworkin, Jeffrey Bergman, Lisa Klapow, Steven Bergman, Lane Aldridge, Wendi Wilson, Nolita Matuschka and great-grandfather of Lyndsy Fonseca, Hanna Dworkin, Hailee Bergman, Heather Bergman, Vanessa Desoto, Jessica Desoto and Carissa Anaya. Brother of Raymond Lagorio and wife, Dorothy, Evelyn Giannini and husband, John, Irene DeWitt all of Stockton and Eva Cavalli of Linden. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Fred was born, raised, and educated in Stockton. Upon his honorable discharge from the U. S. Coast Guard, he began to search for a rewarding career. His love for helping people and serving the public made him decide on a banking career, and shortly thereafter started at Wells Fargo Bank. Fred was appointed Vice President at the Miracle Mile Branch and retired after 44 years of service. He was an avid golfer and was nicknamed "Skinny" by his golfing partners of many years. His love for the game continued well into his eighties. Mr. Lagorio was a member and past president of the Thornton Branch Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Elks, BPOE 218. Upon retiring from the bank, his new adventure as the gardener with the Italian green thumb evolved. His love for the outdoors became evident as his flowers bloomed and his vegetable garden was abundant. Within a few months of retiring he received a second nickname as the "Walker on Thornton Rd". Fred, you are my love, my friend and my partner. Our forty-five years just flew by. Dad, you are my hero and showed your daughter the true meaning of unconditional love and true perseverance. Father, you were there when we needed a guiding hand and never gave up on your sons. We all love you and we will miss you. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at Church of the Presentation, Stockton, CA, Monday, March 14, 2005 at 9:30 a.m. There will be no visitation.
