He was born in Fairfield, KY, and the family relocated to Tracy, CA in 1963. He graduated from Tracy High School and enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. He was a Viet Nam Veteran who served two stints of military service, receiving an Honorable Discharge for his service. He worked various jobs at McClellan Air Force Base, Stockton Steel, Parsons and finally for San Joaquin County as an Inventory Clerk. He was a minister at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, and he enjoyed life even to the end. He is survived by his mother, Georgia Mae Livers; 2 sons, Richard and Lamar Livers; 2 brothers, Harry Livers, Jr. and James Livers; one sister, Janice Livers-Smith; one nephew, Robert Livers that he considered to be a little brother; two sisters-in-law, Edwina Livers and Doris Wheeler-Livers; brother-in- law, Rev. Samuel Smith, Jr., all of Stockton and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Stockton and Kentucky. Visitation: Tuesday, March 15, 2005, 10:00-5:00 p.m. and Funeral Service, Wednesday, March 15 at 11:00 a.m. at Jesse E. Cooley Mortuary, 640 N. California St., Stockton.
