Low August 19, 1920 - March 9, 2005 Dr. Lawrence K. Low, 84, of Stockton passed away on March 9, 2005 in a local hospital. Born in Oakland, CA he is the youngest of six children. Lawrence Low attended UC Berkeley and graduated from the College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1944. Dr. Low was a retired dentist who practiced dentistry for 46 years. He was a life member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and the San Joaquin Dental Society. He was a Fellow of the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists. He served in the US Navy as a Lt. Commander of the Dental Corps and was stationed in San Diego and Mare Island. An active member of the Stockton Scottish Rite Bodies, he was awarded the 33rd degree and he served as the Personal Representative to the Sovereign Grand Inspector General for sixteen years. He was instrumental in establishing the Childhood Language Disorder Clinic at the Stockton Scottish Rite. He was a member of the San Joaquin Lodge #19 Free and Accepted Masons, the Stockton Shrine Patrol, the Stockton Cathay Club, Chinese Acacia Club, North Stockton Lions Club and the Commonwealth Club of San Francisco. He was the past President of the Ben Ali Shrine Club. He was awarded the Legion of Honor by the Supreme Council of the International Order of DeMolay. He was also the past President of the Dameron Hospital Foundation and also served as the Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army. He was also a Kentucky Colonel. Dr. Low was the beloved husband of Julie Low of Stockton for twenty-three years. He was the loving father and father-in-law of Lawrence Low, Jr. and Kim, Leonard Low, Dr. Lester Low and Wendy, Dr. Lyndon Low and Elise, of Stockton, and Mari-Anne Low and Dr. Richard Gallagher of Gilroy; beloved step-father of Anne Hilow, Bill Hilow and Carol Dones; loving grandfather of Janal, Brent, Charles, Brittany, Garrett, Carina, Marisa, Ariana, Alexander, Rachael, Brian and Keagan. Dr. Low is also survived by his sister, Gladys Chew of San Rafael. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dr. Wiliam G. Low. Friends are invited to attend Services and a Celebration of Life, Monday, March 14, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in the Scottish Rite Temple at 33 W. Alpine Ave. in Stockton. Cherokee Memorial Park and Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be Sunday, 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Cherokee Memorial Park Evergreen Chapel.
