Born in Antioch, Mrs. Brown was deeply involved in running several family businesses with her husband. She lived in Manteca from 1963 to 1991 and was also a resident of Gardnerville, Nev. She moved to Ripon six months ago. Mrs. Brown enjoyed traveling the world with her husband, bird watching and cooking. She loved to spend time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband of 48½ years, Robert “Budge” Brown, of Ripon; children, Robert Brown Jr. and his wife, Becki, of Tracy, Michael Brown and his wife, Karel, of Ripon, Jeffrey Brown, and his wife, Jackie, of Tracy, Kristi Brown of Palm Springs, and Shellie Hakeem and her husband, Dave, of Lockford; grandchildren, Haley, Erickson, Jessica and Robert Brown III, all of Tracy, Andrew, Michael Brown Jr. and Jeffery Brown Jr., all of Ripon, Jay Wallis and his wife, Julie, of Stockton, and Jennifer McDonald and her husband, Sean, of Stockton; great-grandchildren, Justin and Jamie Wallis, of Stockton, and Nicholas McDonald of Stockton; and siblings, Dale Mantelli of Modesto and Steve Mantelli of Galt. Thursday’s service will begin at 10 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1635 Chester Drive. Visitation will be observed from 2 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave. Entombment will be in Tracy Mausoleum. Contributions in Mrs. Brown’s name may be sent to the Hearts of Harvest Foundation, 793 S. Tracy Blvd. No. 149, Tracy 95376.
