Ethel McAllister 
Elthel M. McAllister, 94, of Lodi, died Sept. 24 in her home. She was born Jan. 
24, 1911, in Union City, N.J.

Mrs. McAllister married George W. McAllister, Jr. in 1928 in Middletown, N.Y. 
She and her husband moved to California in 1944 and resided in El Cajon, 
Susanville and then Pacific Grove. 

While living in Susanville, she was employed as a substitute teacher for 
seventh and eighth grades for several years. She moved to Lodi in 1990, where 
she was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Alicante in Lodi, and 
was a volunteer as a Pink Lady at Lodi Memorial Hospital. She was also a member 
of the Mended Hearts Chapter No. 40 in Stockton. She enjoyed traveling, 
painting pictures and crocheting.

She is survived by her daughter, Dolores McAllister, of Scotts Valley; son, 
Wayne McAllister, of Lodi; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. McAllister, Jr. in 1972; 
brother, Lou Biegel; and sisters, Helen Wahl and Ida D'Adamo.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday at Mt. Hope Cemetery in San Diego. 
There will be no visitation.

Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
