Born in San Diego, Mrs. Figone worked about 10 years for Manteca Unified School District’s food services at Sierra High School. She was also asked to start and run the cafeteria at Weston Ranch High School. She attended First Christian Church in Manteca since 1978. She loved collecting anything that had to do with toads. Mrs. Figone loved to play softball and, since the 1980s, was a catcher and played up until a couple of years ago. She was very involved in her son’s sports. Mrs. Figone always put others before herself and always helped those in need. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many. She will be deeply missed. Mrs. Figone is survived by her husband of 19 years and high school sweetheart, Larry Figone of Manteca; mother, Delores Mothershed of Manteca; children, Michael, Matthew and Marc Figone, all of Manteca; siblings, Curtis Mothershed of Santa Cruz, Douglas Mothershed of Tracy, Steven Mothershed of Manteca, Debra St. Peter of Modesto, Brian Mothershed of Manteca and Lana Murillo of Riverbank; godparents, Jean and Jay Shadwell of Freedom; 15 nieces and nephews; and 10 great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Gene Mothershed. Friday’s services will begin at 10 a.m. at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home, 290 N. Union Road, in Manteca. Visitation will be observed from 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Parkview Cemetery, 3661 French Camp Road, in Manteca. Contributions in Mrs. Figone’s name may be sent to Michael, Matthew and Marc Figone’s college fund, at Bank of the West in Manteca, account No. 111-284782.
