John Enos Moura

Feb. 9, 1914 — Dec. 17, 2005

A prayer service will be Thursday for 30-year Tracy resident John Enos Moura, 
91, who died Saturday at his home. 

Mr. Moura was born in Faial, Azore Islands. He was a rancher and truck driver 
in Tracy and Pleasanton. The family would like to give special thanks to 
Sutter VNA Hospice, Provident Care, Comfort Keepers and many friends in the 
Tracy area, especially friend and companion for many years, Virginia Gowan and 
Dr. Harry McClelland.

Mr. Moura is survived by his children, Mervin Alan “Rick” Moura, and his wife, 
Sherry, of Auburn and Leland Roy Moura, and his wife, Dolores, of Modesto; 
brothers, Edward Moura of Hollister, Joseph Moura of Livermore and Teddy Koll 
of Modesto; sisters, Eleanor Nichols of Modesto, Beatrice Ruttan of Arizona, 
Anna Melton of San Diego and Roselyn Moore of South Carolina; grandchildren, 
Michele Bray of Modesto and Jennifer Rantz of Pleasanton; great-grandchildren, 
Clayton Bray of Modesto, Sierra Rantz of Pleasanton and Emily Bray of Modesto; 
and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Erma D. Moura. 

Thursday’s service will begin at 10:30 a.m. at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. 
Central Ave. Visitation will be observed from 1 to 7 p.m. at the chapel, 
immediately followed by recital of a rosary. Internment will be in the Tracy 
Cemetery.
