Doris Matthews 
Doris M. Matthews, 74, of Lodi, died on March 8. She was born April 3, 1930, in 
Lathrop.

Mrs. Matthews lived in the Stockton and Lodi area all her life. She was a 
homemaker for 50 years. She completed her associate of arts degree at San 
Joaquin Delta College later in her life. 

She enjoyed writing poetry, working with ceramics and animals.




Doris Matthews 
She is survived by her husband, Scott Matthews, of Lodi; mother, Martha Roy, of 
Stockton; children, Evan Matthews, Suzanne Matthews and Brian Matthews, all of 
Lodi; siblings, Lorraine Weertman, of Lodi, and Robert Pico, of French Camp.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Pico.

A funeral will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Evergreen Chapel Cherokee 
Memorial Park, Highway 99 and Harney Lane, Lodi. Memorial contributions may be 
made to the charity of your choice in Matthews' memory.

Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
