Rose Matthews 
Rose M. Matthews, 89, of Lodi, died May 31. She was born Jan. 29, 1916, in the 
Bronx, N.Y.

Mrs. Matthews moved to California in 1937. She worked as an LVN for several 
years. 

She was a former member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and enjoyed square 
dancing.

She is survived by her son, Stephen C. Marshall, of Las Vegas, Nev.; daughters, 
Dona Johnston and Debra Harbin, both of Lodi; sisters, Mary Tait, of McLean, 
Va., and Anne Tholen, of Bridgewater, Va.; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-
grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Marshall, Donald F. 
Schwiesow and Al Matthews; son, Harold R. Marshall; daughter, Florence 
Murrison; brother, Mario Campioli; and sister, Alberta Stamoulis.

A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the Evergreen Chapel at Cherokee 
Memorial Park. Burial will follow at the cemetery. Visitation will be held from 
2 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 Industrial Way, 
Lodi.

Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
