He was born on November 11, 1946 in Chicago IL, the son of William Francis McGuire and Ella Mae Frass McGuire. Bill was a resident of Stockton for the past decade, where he worked in legal practice as a paralegal specialist. Bill attended Kansas State College where he attained a Baccalaureate degree in Psychology in 1969. After graduation from college, Bill enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving in the Infantry during the Vietnam conflict. He received numerous military decorations, including the Bronze Star Medal with two Oak Leaf clusters, the Army commendation medal, National Defense Medal and the Combat Infantry Badge. Bill enjoyed traveling around the world and was an avid sport enthusiast. He enjoyed the comradeship of his fellow Veterans and was a proud and active member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 52 in Stockton. Bill is survived by his daughter, Shelly Brown and her husband, Gary of San Jose; three grandchildren, Steffan McGuire, Kylie and Amber Brown of San Jose; his mother, Mrs. Ella Mae McGuire of Wichita, KS; two brothers, Tim McGuire of Wichita and John McGuire of McClean, VA; six sisters, Madeline Goletz of Madison, CT, Camile McGuire of Wichita, Emily McGuire of Grantville, KS, Eileen Lovell of Pittsburg, PA, Sharon Schultheis and Michelle Hook of Andover, KS. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Friends are invited to attend visitations commencing at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 20, 2005 at Frisbie-Warren & Carroll Mortuary, 809 N. California St. in Stockton, followed by by a Celebration of Life Service at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at the mortuary, with military honors by the V.F.W. Post 52 Honor Guard. Committal service and inurnment will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2005 at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, 32053 W. McCabe Road in Gustine, CA.
