Meier, 87, of Lodi, died June 14 at a San Andreas hospital. She was born Aug. 19, 1917, in Alabama. Mrs. Meier lived in Calaveras County for many years before relocating to Lodi five years ago. She worked as a licensed practicing nurse, and was a waitress at many restaurants in Tuolumne, San Joaquin and Calaveras Counties. She also starred as an extra in five films shot in the Mother Lode, including "Young Tom Edison," and "My Little Chicadee." She was a member of the Eastern Star of Lodi. She was an avid gardener. She is survived by her daughter, Janet Baker, of Valley Springs; son, Eugene Meier, of Sommerset, Fla.; sister, Maggie Blackman, of Alabama; nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Meier in 1980; sons, Carl Meier and C.T. Parker; and grandson, Troy Parker. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be private. San Andreas Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
