Robert Merrill 
Robert A. Merrill, 79, of Mt. Aukum died May 22 at a Sacramento hospital. He 
was born in Lodi and lived for 40 years in the surrounding area.

Mr. Merrill was a tail gunner in the U.S. Air Force for three years during 
World War II. He managed the J&L Club stores in San Joaquin and El Dorado 
counties. He, his wife and in-laws built a general store in Mt. Aukum, in 
southern El Dorado County. He managed the store. 

Mr. Merrill is survived by three sons, Gordon, Douglas and Robert Merrill, a 
brother, John D. Merrill of Lodi; and a sister, Elaine Aimes of Outingdale.

Inurnment will be private.
