He was born Nov. 16, 1920, in Stockton. Mr. Mikami graduated from Lodi High School in 1940. During World War II, his family was relocated to the Japanese Internment Camp in Rowher, Ark. He then lived briefly in Ohio and Michigan before returning to his family in Lodi in 1945. He was employed by various local ranches and also managed his own vineyard in Lodi until his retirement in 1999. He was a member of the Lodi Buddhist Church, Japanese American Citizens League and the Lucky Anglers of Lodi. He was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed horseshoes and watching sports, especially the San Francisco 49ers and the Sacramento Kings. He is survived by his wife, Aiko Mikami, of Lodi; daughter, Eileen Takeda, of Clovis; son, Jason Mikami, of Oakland; brothers, Frank Mikami, of Granada Hills, and Toshi Mikami, of Lodi; sister, Terrie Otani, of Fresno; and two granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Joe and Yoshito; and sister, Masae Mikami. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Lodi Buddhist Church, 23 N. Stockton St., Lodi, with the Rev. Kenshin Fujimoto officiating. Inurnment will be private at Cherokee Memorial Park. A family Memorial registry may be signed from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home. Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
