Ben Mikawa 
Ben T. Mikawa, 81, of Stockton and formerly Lodi, died July 22 in Stockton. He 
was born Oct. 13, 1923, in Acampo.

Mr. Mikawa graduated from Lodi High School in 1942. He was employed by Pacific 
Coast Producers in Lodi for 17 years. He also farmed for over 50 years on his 
vineyard and grew vegetables. In 1989, he and his wife moved to Stockton. He 
was a former member of the Lodi Buddhist Church in Lodi. He enjoyed fishing and 
spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. 

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Chiyo Mikawa, of Stockton; daughters, 
Brenda Metcalf, of Lockeford and Janet Niino, of Fresno; son, Victor Mikawa, of 
Stockton; sisters, Frances Otani, of Lodi, Shirley Iwagaki, of Campbell, and 
Mary Kanegawa, of Lodi; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Mikawa.

Services were private, and a private inurnment will be held at Cherokee 
Memorial Park.

Cherokee Memorial Park is in charge of arrangements.
