Miller June 5, 1919 - March 31, 2005 Robert H. Miller, age 85, passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2005. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather, respected banker and community leader, Bob was a native of the San Joaquin Valley. Born in Stockton to Mary Peck and Robert Miller, Bob began his long and successful career in banking as bank messenger in the 1930's in Stockton. His career was interrupted by World War II, in which Bob proudly served aboard ship in the United States Navy. A devoted member or Our Lady of Fatima parish, Bob served the church as head usher for the 12 o'clock mass continuously for over 40 years. Retiring after 20 years as President from Center State Bank in the 1980's, Bob's retirement was short-lived; he went to work as a consultant for the American Bankers Association and has continued in this capacity until his death. Bob, an avid golfer, was a long-time member of Del Rio Country Club, continuing to play the game even into his 80's. Bob was passionate about his family, his faith, his work; he loved his cars, his hats, his garden and his home. He took pride in his collections of miniature cars, historic memorabilia and developed an appreciation of the American wolf, collecting artwork depicting these beautiful animals in their natural environment. Bob is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Myrt Miller; his daughters, Marcia Reed and Charlene Miller; granddaughters, Kelsey Larsen and Caitlin Larsen and son-in-law, Tom Reed.
