He was born on March 28, 1914, in Bellingham, Wash., where he was raised. Mr. Moden's family moved to Lodi in 1935. He was married to his first wife, June, from 1938 to 1942. He moved to Stockton in 1942. He married Nancy Mae in 1946. He worked for PG&E for 26 years and retired in 1973. In the 1930s, he was active in the California Conservation Corps and later founded and served as president of the Stockton Chapter No. 100 of the National California Conservation Corps Alumni. William Moden He was a member in the Ed Stewart and Karl Ross American Legion Posts in Stockton, the senior citizen's centers in Lodi and Stockton, the Port of Stockton Boaters Association and the Rod & Gun Club of Stockton. He enjoyed fishing, gold mining and collecting rocks. He is survived by his daughters, Saundra Giddings, of Stockton, Carolyn Sallee, of Pioneer, Beverly Williams, of Fremont, and Norma Snow, of Valley Springs; sister, Betty Yeck, of Stockton; 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, June Wegner, in 1980; second wife, Nancy Moden, in 1972; brother, Stanley Moden; a son-in-law, Charles Sallee; granddaughter, Paula Snow; and grandson-in-law, David Glahn. A funeral will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of the Flowers at Cherokee Memorial Park, Highway 99 and Harney Lane. The Rev. Dr. David Hill, of Grace Presbyterian Church in Lodi, will officiate. Committal will follow in the Garden of Memories. Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
