He was born on March 28, 1914 in Bellingham, Washington, where he was reared. His family moved to Lodi in 1935, he resided in Lodi for a few years and was married to his first wife, June in 1938 until 1942. He then moved to Stockton where he has resided since. In 1946 he was married to Nancy Mae. Soon he began employment with P.G. & E., where he worked for 26 years and retired in 1973. In the 1930's he was active in the California Conservation Corp. and later he founded and served as president of the Stockton Chapter No. 100 of the National California Conservation Corp's. Alumnis. He was active in the Ed Stewart and Karl Ross American Legion Post's in Stockton, the Senior Citizens Cancer Center's in Lodi and Stockton, the Port of Stockton Boaters Association and the Rod and Gun Club of Stockton. He enjoyed fishing, gold mining and collecting rocks. He is survived by a sister, Betty Yeck of Stockton; 4 daughters, Saundra Giddings of Stockton, Carolyn Sallee of Pioneer, Beverly Williams of Fremont and Norma Snow of Valley Springs; also 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, June Wegner in 1980; his second wife, Nancy Moden in 1972; brother, Stanley Moden; son-in-law, Charles Sallee; a granddaughter, Paula Snow and a grand-son- in-law, David Glahn. Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 14, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flowers at Cherokee Memorial Park, Hwy. 99 and Harney Lane, Lodi. Rev. Dr. David Hill of Grace Presbyterian Church in Lodi will officiate. Committal will follow in the Garden of Memories. Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
