Tanya A. (Schmidt) Nalley

May 26, 1966 — March 8, 2006

Memorial services will be today for Tanya A. (Schmidt) Nalley, 39, who died 
Wednesday at her home in Antioch.

Born in Tracy, Mrs. Nalley lived in Tracy 29 years before making Antioch her 
home. She worked for Contra Costa County Department of Social Services. She 
loved animals and was loyal to her friends and family. Mrs. Nalley overcame 
many physical obstacles and had an enthusiastic laugh that will be deeply 
missed by all. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and a Society 
for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals volunteer.

Mrs. Nallley is survived by her husband of one year, Earl Joe Nalley, of 
Antioch; parents, Herbert and Joanne Schmidt; mother-in-law, Noreen Nalley of 
Union City; sister, Vicki L. Castro of Lathrop; numerous aunts, uncles and 
cousins; special friends Coleen Toon and Jeff Yates; and eight cats and a dog. 

Today’s memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 
1635 Chester Drive. 

Graveside services will be private. 

Contributions in Mrs. Nalley’s name may be sent to the local SPCA, 1000 Civic 
Center Drive.

Higgins Funeral Directors, in Antioch, is handling arrangements.
