Nichols, 83, of Clements, died Sept. 18 in Lodi. He was born March 29, 1922, in Placerville. Mr. Nichols lived in the Clements and Lockeford area for 50 years. He served in the Army Air Force as a radio operator and gunner during World War II. He worked with horses and cattle throughout his life and was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association. He enjoyed training horses. Harold Nichols He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marilyn Nichols; daughter, Leslie Nichols, of New Mexico, and Nancy Ouding, of Lodi; son, Matthew Nichols, of Lockeford; brothers, Bob and Vincent, both of Placerville, Clarence, of Lotus; sisters, Gloria and Muriel; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Jennifer Lee Nichols; brothers, Cecil, Floyd and Archie; and sister, Mary. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bethel Open Bible Church, 760 S. Ham Lane, Lodi. There will be no visitation and committal will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Alternative Burial and Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
