Born in San Bernardino, Mr. Nottingham grew up in Los Angeles. He lived in Tracy from 1967 to 1983 while working at the Bureau of Reclamation’s Tracy pumping plant. He graduated from Eagle Rock High School and from Glendale Community College. On February 14, 1955, he married Janet Henry in Eagle Rock. He later moved to Beeville, Texas, where he served in the U.S. Naval Air as a link trainer instructor. Mr. Nottingham retired from the Western Area Power Administration in Sacramento in 1993 and moved to Grants Pass, Ore. In 2001, he and his wife moved to Gold Beach, Ore., where he served as chairman for the Citizens of Emergency Preparedness in Gold Beach and the Nesika Beach neighborhood watch. He enjoyed classic cars, fishing and golf. He loved his family and friends and always enjoyed helping people. Mr. Nottingham is survived by his wife of 50 years, Janet L. Nottingham, of Gold Beach; daughter, Barbara Yrigoyen of Manteca; son, Steven Nottingham of Grants Pass; sister, Betty Collins of Redding; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Maryann Nottingham; and brother, Dick Nottingham. Saturday’s celebration of life will be from 2 to 5 p.m. at the R-Haus Restaurant, 2140 Rogue River Highway, in Grants Pass. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors, 612 N.W.
