Harvey B. Nix Sr. 
December 5, 1931 - March 22, 2005



Harvey B. Nix Sr. passed away in Lockeford, CA on Tuesday, March 22, 2005. He 
was 73 years old. Born on December 5, 1931 in La Mesa, CA. Harvey served in the 
United States Air Force 585th Band from 1948 to 1952. He owned and operated 
Harvey Nix's Plumbing for over 30 years in Pismo Beach and Arroyo Grande and 
was a life member of the American Legion, the Moose Lodge, Los Grandes Riders, 
Rotary Club, Eagles, the 40 and over 8 Club and the Knights of Columbus. Harvey 
loved his dog, Snooky, chocolate, big bad, jazz and motorcycles and played the 
clarinet and saxophone.
He is survived by his loving children, Harvey B. Nix Jr. of Lodi, Mary Jeanne 
McGowan of Tacoma, WA and Sonia Rideout of Lockeford and also one sister, 
Melvina (Tad) Hamilton of Fort Jones; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday March 30, 2005 at San 
Joaquin National Cemetery, Gustine, CA. Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home in 
charge of arrangements.
