She was born February 5, 1911, in Boley, OK to John and Sarah Reaves and resided in Stockton over 40 years. She lived in Spencer with her daughter during her illness the past three years. While in Stockton, she was a dedicated and faithful member of the Greater White Rose Church of God in Christ serving as Church Mother, Secretary, Prayer and Bible Band President, Usher Board member, Mission worker and Prayer Warrior. Mother Bowie was the President of the California Northwest COGIC State Mother's Board of Northern California, and served 10 years. Her life will be remembered by her daughter, Christine Wright of Spencer, OK; son, Earl J. Bowie of Stockton; brother, William Reaves of Hermiston, OR; son- in-law, Reece Wright; daughter-in-law, Pat Bowie; 9 grandchildren including Wanda (Bowie) Akin and Nathan Bowie, whom she reared. Preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Annie M. Brown, husband, Bill Bowie and 6 siblings. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 31, 2004, at the Greater White Rose Church, 2340 S. Pilgrim.
