Lofstedt March 9, 1921 - August 12, 2004 Earl K. Lofstedt, 83, passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2004 at St. Josephs Hospital in Stockton. He was born in Westwood, CA, on March 9, 1921. Mr. Lofstedt was a 3rd generation Californian. His father, Linden R. Lofstedt was an employee for the local Red River Lumber mill in Westwood, and his mother, Ruby Stover, was the oldest child of Merton and Bertie Stover of Chester, CA. Mr. Lofstedt moved to San Bernardino in 1934 where he worked for the San Bernardino Monument & Vault Co. at Highland & Waterman. He moved to Stockton, CA. in 1997. A NAVY veteran of WWII, he was coxswain aboard the USS BLAND and saw action in the Asia Pacific arena. Survivors: Wife of 64 years, Carole H. Lofstedt of Stockton; daughter, Janet Schmidt of Mustang, OK; son, Doug Lofstedt of Stockton, son, Mike Lofstedt of Tracy; 8 grandchildren, 11 Great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his brother, Hubert (Barney) Lofstedt, of San Bernardino, CA. Internment: Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA. No services were requested.
