Lee Albert Owning Sr. 

July 5, 1933 - August 30, 2004



Lee Albert Owning Sr., 71, died Monday, August 30, 2004 in his Linden, 
California home. He was born in Stockton, California in 1933, the son of Lee 
and Mary Owning. He attended St. Mary's High School, and went on to the 
Pharmacy School at University of San Francisco. He then served in the U.S. Army 
from 1955 to 1957 as a First Lieutenant. Lee's passion was serving his 
community. He created and chaired the Beautification of Front Street Committee 
in Linden. He was a member of the Linden Lions Club for 44 years and served on 
many committees during that time. He contributed to the Board of Supervisors 
for San Joaquin County, the Board of Directors for the San Joaquin County 
Economic Development Association, and the California Pharmacists Association 
and the Linden Chamber of Commerce. 
Lee is survived by his wife, Aurora; his children, Cindi Owning Miller, Lee 
Owning Jr., and Ron Owning, and his grandchildren, John Owning, Shelbi Owning, 
and Madison Owning.
A Memorial Service will be held at the DeYoung Memorial Chapel, 601 N. 
California St. in Stockton on Tuesday, September 7, at 11:00 a.m. 
Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Lee A. Owning Memorial Fund to 
support local youth in the Linden High School civic achievement field, through 
the Farmers and Merchants Bank, P.O. Box 685, Linden, CA 95236.
