Stockton
John F. Hosmer 
Feb. 28, 1940 - Sept. 8, 2004



John F. Hosmer, 64, of Stockton, passed away in a local hospital on Thursday, 
September 8, 2004. He was born February 28, 1940 in Youngstown, New York. Mr. 
Hosmer graduated from Cornell University and began a career in the chemical 
industry in Niagara Falls, NY. His career took him to various states working 
for Hooker Chemical, Occidental and lastly Simplot, which brought him to 
Stockton in 1978. He was an expert Woodcraftsman, avid sailor and member of the 
Stockton Sailing Club.
His wife of 37 years, Judy Hosmer, of Stockton; two sons, John Hosmer, of 
Roseville, Todd and his wife, Christy Hosmer, of Stockton; three grandchildren, 
Taylor, Natalie and Matthew Hosmer survive him. His youngest son, Kent Hosmer 
preceded him in death in 1990. Other survivors include one sister, Carol 
Miller, of Jacksonville, FL; one brother, Craig and his wife, Daryl Hosmer, of 
Queensland, Australia; brother, Bruce Hosmer, preceded him in death in 1995.
A Graveside Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, September 15, 2004 at 
3:30 p.m. at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi. Donations may be made in his name 
to Hospice of San Joaquin, 3888 Pacific Ave., Stockton, CA 95204, or a charity 
of the donor's choice. Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of 
arrangements.
