Johnny was born on December 25, 1918 in Jackson, Mississippi. He enlisted in the United States Army and he served from 1942 - 1945. After serving his country he relocated to San Francisco. He was employed with Allen Meat Company for 30 years. After retiring he moved to Stockton and in 1985 he took the position of Supervisor at Village West Marina and he worked there until 2003. Johnny is survived by his loving wife Alice McQuitter; his 5 children, Darlene Curry, Marlene Lucky, Ervin Henley, Denita Lawson, and Selena Calvin; his 3 sisters, LaDora Henson, Pauline McQuitter, and Ruber Lee McQuitter; his 3 brothers, Joseph McQuitter, Eugene McQuitter, and Richard McQuitter and 19 grandchildren. Johnny will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing this beautiful Angel, and now he's been called home to rest in peace. Visitation will be held at Wallace-Martin Funeral Home located at 520 N. Sutter Street in Stockton on Tuesday, September 14, 2004, 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of the funeral home on Wednesday, September 15, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. Committal will be at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery immediately following the service.
