For the next 97 years she experienced the extravagant grace of God. She went to be with the Lord she loved on September 10, 2004, on the 79th wedding anniversary of her marriage to her late husband, Orville Curtiss, who passed away in 1981. She lived in Stockton for 60 years. Mary worked at Red Cherry Bakery before retirement. She was a long time member of Calvary Assembly of God Church where she was a former Sunday School Teacher, and worked many tireless hours in the Women's Ministry making items for missionaries. She made quilts and handmade items of clothing, and did mending and alterations for needy families as well as her own family. Her hands were never idle, always sewing, knitting, or crocheting. A son, Harold, preceded her in death, as well as 4 sisters and 3 brothers. She is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Elmer Bloecher, of Stockton. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren and their spouses, Cathy and Chris Jarvinen of Folsom, CA, Ernie and Gracie Bloecher of Aromas, CA, and Julie and Mark Colbert of Aptos, CA, and her dearly loved great- grandchildren, Ryan, Zach, Matt, and Brandon Jarvinen, Daniel, Katie, and Eric Bloecher, and Alison, Christian, Nathaniel, and Kelly Colbert. Her heart's desire was that each of her family would know and love the Lord she served. Her niece, Mary Mullins of Stockton; her sister Virginia Coffey; sister-in-law Corene Dicks; and step-sister Imogene Whitson of Arkansas also survive her. Mary loved her friends. She especially appreciated the notes, cards, remembrances and visits from so many of them. They had a special place in her heart. She will be missed every day. Our loss is Heaven's gain. Family and friends are invited to attend a Service on Saturday, September 18, 2004, in The Evergreen Chapel of Cherokee Memorial Park, Hwy 99 and Harney Lane, Lodi, CA at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 17, 2004, at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 Industrial Way, Lodi, CA.
