David Jason Klieves 
Feb. 7, 1981 - Sept. 7, 2004

  David Jason Klieves, 23, passed away in Rhode Island on Sept. 7, 2004. He was 
born in Stockton on February 7, 1981, where he attended local schools. He was a 
graduate of Stockton Christian School at the Christian Life Center. He attended 
Greenville College in Greenville, IL for two years. He graduated and received 
an Associate's in Arts Degree from Chritian Life College. With profound pride 
and love for his nation, David enlisted in the U.S. Navy. 
After basic training, he received his advanced individual training and attained 
the rating of Sonar Technician Seaman Submarine Warfare (STSSN). He was 
stationed in Groton, Connecticut, and was part of the pre-commissary unit of 
Jimmy Carter SSN23.
David is survived by his parents, James and Lynn Tavella of Stockton; three 
siblings, Tamara, Lindsay and Joey Tavella, all of Stockton; grandparents, 
James Atkins and Chet Klieves; and many other relatives and loving friends.
Friends are invited to attend visitations from 12 noon to 7 p.m. on Thursday, 
Sept. 16, 2004 at Frisbie-Warren & Carroll Mortuary, 809 N. California Street 
in Stockton. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 
17, 2004, at Christian Life Center, 9025 N. West Lane in Stockton. Committal 
will be private.
To honor his memory, contributions to Stockton Christian School, 9021 N. West 
Lane, Stockton, CA 95210, are preferred.
