A native of Cupertino, CA, he graduated from Campbell High School in 1937. He along with his brothers, Charlie and Roy, farmed orchards of prunes and apricots in the Santa Clara valley until the mid 1950's. The Tuso brothers purchased their first ranch west of Tracy in the 1940's and developed the first farmland irrigated from the federal Delta-Mendota Canal through the Plain View Water District. He continued to farm and manage his business properties with his children until his death. Mr. Tuso served in the U.S. Army, was a charter board member of the Plain View Water District for 45 years, a charter member of the Tracy Elks Lodge, member of Rhodes Bean and Supply Co-op, San Joaquin Farm Bureau and St. Bernard's Catholic Church. He was always up to date with current events and had a unique ability to quote old Italian expressions. He was always helpful and never complained. Mr. Tuso will be remembered as a loyal, dedicated and proud man, who believed in hard work and instilled in his children a strong work ethic. He was an excellent provider who loved his family and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marie Tuso; two sons, Charles and his wife Marilyn, Steve and his wife, Kandi; daughter, Annette Elissagaray and her husband, Roger; his four adoring grandchildren, Anthony, Stephanie, Brian and Bianca Tuso, all of Tracy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Giacchino and Beatrice Tuso; his siblings, Esther La Barbera, Grace Tuso, Charles Tuso, Josephine Spatafore Ish and Roy Tuso. Funeral Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Hotchkiss Mortuary Chapel, 5 W. Highland Ave. Graveside Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery, 490 Lincoln St. in Santa Clara. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 1:00-7:00 p.m. at Hotchkiss Mortuary, with a Vigil held at 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions in Mr. Tuso's name may be made to St. Bernards Building Fund, 163 W.
