Lindly Jr. March 29, 1927 — Sept. 20, 2004 Funeral services will be Friday for Salinas resident M.T. Lindly Jr., 77, who died Monday at Hospice House of Monterey. Mr. Lindly, a native of Fort Chadbourn, Texas, and his late wife of 50 years, Madelene, who died in 2003, lived in Tracy from 1955 to 1958. They lived the past 14 years in Prunedale near Salinas. Mr. Lindly worked as a truck driver 40 years, retiring from Hadley Auto Transport in Milpitas in 1992. He was a member of the Teamsters Union. He enjoyed tinkering with various projects around the house and spending time with his family. Mr. Lindly is survived by two sons, Dale Lindly, and wife Susie, of Santa Clara, and Maurice Lindly, and wife Charlene, of Salinas; two sisters, Georgia Ross of Clovis, and Letta Edwards of Lubbock, Texas; and four grandchildren, Bryanna and Kayla Lindly, both of Santa Clara, and Matthew and Courtney Lindly, both of Salinas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Madelene; a sister, Maudie Kahoutek; and two brothers, Henry Alpha Lindly and Grover Cleveland Lindly. Friday’s services will begin at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave., where visitation will be observed from 1 to 2 p.m. that same day.
