He was the much loved father of Kendra Bousfield (husband Ross and children Noni and Eryn); Robert Chance (wife Anna and children Matthew, Gregory and Elizabeth); Jerilyn Moore (husband Joseph and children Meghan, George, Riley and the late Joseph). Albert is also survived by his only brother, Frank Chance (wife Mary Lou and children Karen (husband William and child Nickolas); F. Bradford (wife Joan and children John, Bryant and the late Jessica). Bert became quite active in local musical circles at a very young age. His piano stylings were featured by KGDM in Stockton with a half-hour program of popular music while still a teenager. Prior to entering the military service in WWII, he was also a member of several prominent local, Stockton dance orchestras at the time. After serving as a Lieutenant Commander in the US Navy, Bert returned to the College of the Pacific and obtained a Master's of Music Degree. During this period, he organized and conducted a little theatre orchestra designed to accompany numerous drama productions at the college. With his education behind him he continued in the entertainment field, becoming associated with the new television station, KOTV in Stockton. Remaining with KOVR he transferred to Sacramento. KXTV in Sacramento and the KUVS of Modesto (in which he was part owner) became next in line on his entertainment journey. KJAZ in Alameda rounded out his love for the musical scene. After this, he worked many years for Spanish TV Channel 14 in San Francisco and was a partner in Sainte Broadcasting Company. Bert wrote many theatrical productions, short stories and poems and composed numerous songs throughout his life. He had a lifetime love/hate relationship with the game of golf. His favorite spot on earth besides his home was the Monterey Penninsula. Bert will be sorely missed but remembered always for his brilliant sense of humor, keen sense of accomplishment and consistent encouragement towards people, especially his grandchildren.
