Elsie Lorraine Lucas Croswhite 
May 17, 1913 - Sept. 22, 2004



Elsie Lorriane Lucas Corswhite, 91, passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 
2004, in Sacramento. She was the beloved mother and grandmother of 5. Elsie was 
born in Buena Vista, CA and raised in Ione, CA. She was the great-granddaughter 
of pioneer, Kit Lucas. She was an accomplished dispensing optician in Lodi, 
Sacramento, and Grass Valley until her retirement. Her beloved husband, William 
(Bill) Croswhite, passed away in 1955.
She is survived by daughter, Debra Ann Layton and son-in-law, Reg Layton, of 
Sacramento; son, John Croswhite and daughter-in-law, Elyce, of San Francisco; 
grandson, Zacary Layton and wife, Elizabeth, of Sacramento and several nieces 
and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at Cherokee Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 
Harney Lane and Highway 99, Lodi. at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 28, 2004.
