Gene T. Espitia, Sr. 

March 6, 1932 - June 13, 2004

Gene T. Espitia, Sr., "Cowboy", 72, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 13, 
2004 in Chand-
ler, AZ. Gene, along with his 8 brothers and sisters, Lucia Dominguez, Demetrio 
Espitia, Ramona Sisneroz, Manuel Escarsega, Chemma Escarsega, Lalo Escarsega, 
Julia Espitia and Tonia Chavez, was born March 6, 1932 in Bay City, Texas. He 
moved to Stockton, where he was married to Mary Lozano for 35 years, and 
together raised their five children. Gene enjoyed playing golf, boxing, 
restoring old cars and playing music with his family and friends. Gene retired 
to Fountain Hills, AZ about two years ago,where he spent his time enjoying life.
Gene is survived by his children: Gene Espitia, Jr., Linda M. Tibon, Sally A. 
Espitia, Frankie J. Espitia and Josie M. Rotert; sister, Lucia Dominguez, Tonia 
Chavez; brother, Demetrio Espitia; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
A Mass will be held Thursday, July 1, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of 
the Annunciation, 400 W. Rose St., Stockton with committal at San Joaquin 
Catholic Cemetery. Reception will follow at 1:30 p.m. 
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Hospice of Arizona, 1510 E. 
Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014-5656 or your local Hospice, 2609 E. Hammer Lane, 
Stockton, CA 95210.
