Robert E. Rankins 
Oct. 7, 1930 - Sept. 30, 2004



Chief Petty Officer Robert Eugene Rankins, retired, 73 of Stockton, passed away 
on Thursday, September 30, 2004, in a local convalescent care facility. Born on 
October 7, 1930 in Newman, IL, he was a mechanic / inspector with the Blue 
Angels of the Navy, and 30 years with the Navy.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Loretta Rankins of Stockton; loving 
step-father of Devona (Mark) Whitney, Karen (Neil) Baysinger, Kevin (Renee) 
Blankenship and Kimberly (Aaron) Van Fleet all of Stockton; grandfather of 15; 
and great grandfather of 11; brother of Donald Rankins, Harold Rankins, Shirley 
Apple and Betty Rowland all of IL, also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to attend Funeral Services, Wednesday, October 6, 2004, at 
10:00 a.m. in the Evergreen Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park. Visitation hours 
on Tuesday 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 
Industrial Way at Beckman Rd., Lodi. Interment at Cherokee Memorial Park. Max 
Carroll in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, 237 E. Alpine, Stockton 
95204 are preferred.
