She was born April 29, 1929, in Amarillo, Texas. She is preceded in Heaven by her loving husband, Jesus Coronado; her mother and father, Natividad Perez Dominguez and Isauro Dominguez; her sisters, Eleanor Dominguez Arevalo and Susan Dominguez Casillas and her brothers, Bennie Dominguez, Tony Dominguez and Cruz Dominguez. She is survived by her children, Maria Elena Martinez, John Avila, Gloria Coronado and Danny Ramirez; her grandson, who she raised as her own; her stepchildren, Jesse Coronado and Estela Coronado; her sister, Maria Dominguez Casillas and her brothers, Juan Dominguez of Amarillo, Texas, Dario Dominguez and Isauro Dominguez. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; Godchildren; friends and relatives, whom all loved her very much. "Lencha" was a person who gave. Lencha was a strong woman whom a very large Stockton-Amarillo, Texas family proudly and respectfully called their own. She was regarded as someone who everyone turned to at one time or another. When a niece or nephew needed a roof over their head, she was there. When a friend needed someone to laugh with, she was there. When a sister needed someone to cry with, she was there. When a child needed their mother, she was there. When a Godchild needed shoes, she was there. When a grandchild needed a warm meal, she was there. When anyone in the family needed anything, Lencha was always there for us! Lencha was a safe haven for the troubled times in our lives, the joyous moments and even the saddest events. When we were tired, troubled, or just needed a sound ear to hear us, Lencha was there. Her remedy was always the same. We would sit in her kitchen and she would ask, "Are you hungry? Let me fix you something to eat". Everyone would always answer "okay", not because we were polite, but because she was a great cook! Whatever she made tasted wonderful! Many of us would try to figure out her recipes. Just what was in her food that made it taste so delicious? Lencha was always giving. Once, someone in the family was involved with a fundraiser to send money and clothes to an orphanage in Mexico. Lencha, without hesitation, offered to make one of her best dishes, Chicken Mole. Needless to say, the fundraiser was more than a success as the dinner tickets sold out immediately. Lencha would cook for so many fundraisers and organizations, and everyone would always request their favorite dish. As we think about Lencha, we remember so many times, so much happiness, so much sadness and so much food! So, the answer to our question becomes apparent , and we finally know what the ingredients in her recipes were...after all it was the same ingredients she gave to all of us, namely...Labor and Love.
