She was born on January 10, 1930 in Ada, Oklahoma and moved to California in 1947, where she attended Ceres High School. She married her husband, John in 1949, and raised her three children in Stockton while working seasonally as a switchboard operator at Diamond Walnut. She was a charter member of Michigan Heights Baptist Church, where she served faithfully in a variety of capacities for over 40 years. Wanda was a "people" person in every way and joyfully loved her family, friends and even strangers with a tender, compassionate love that stemmed from her relationship with her Lord. Her faith and love touched and influenced everyone who knew her, leaving a legacy of changed lives and cherished memories that will never fade away. She is preceded in Heaven by her loving husband of 36 years, John Gourley and her son, Mark Gourley. She is survived by two children, Terri Tutt and Steve Gourley of Stockton; her son-in-law, Kim Tutt of Stockton and daughter-in-law, Dona Gourley of San Jose; her brother-in-law, Bob Gourley of Kansas and four beloved grandchildren, Kevin and Michael Tutt and Anthony and Elizabeth Gourley. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Wednesday, October 13, 2004, at 1:30 p.m. at Michigan Heights Baptist Church, 3156 Michigan Ave., Stockton, CA. No visitation.
