Jonathan Melone 
Sept. 22, 1947 - Oct. 9, 2004

Jonathan Melone, 57, passed away peacefully, at home surrounded by his family 
on Saturday, October 9, 2004. He fought cancer for 14 years. He was born in San 
Francisco, September 22, 1947. He started school in Stamford, Conn, and 
graduated from Robt. Louis Stevenson High School in Pebble Beach in 1965. 
He graduated from UCLA (after trying out 5 campuses of the University of 
California) and later received his teaching credential at UOP. 
He taught ESL and History at Webster Middle School (SUSD). He was a member of 
the Sonoma Co. Trail Blazers, was a lector at Presentation Church and a member 
of the Knights of Columbus. Jon never met a stranger, loved his family above 
all, and was known for his ready laugh, his guitar and his singing. 
He is survived by his wife, Margaret of Stockton; his daughter, Catherine of 
Seaside, CA; his son, Andy of San Jose; his brother, Rob and sister-in-law, Uta 
of Hamm, Germany; his parents, Woodward and Joy Melone of Novato, CA and his 
aunt and uncle Mo and Drury Melone of Wahiawa, HI. 
Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Friday, October 
15, 2005, at Presentation Church, 1515 W. Benjamin Holt, Stockton. Visitation: 
Thursday, October 14, 2004, 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at DeYoung Memorial Chapel, 
Stockton. Committal: Cherokee Memorial Park, Lodi. 
Memorial contributions may be made to Knights of Columbus, c/o Tom McMillan, 
3508 Larchmont, Stockton, CA 95209.
