Laura Oleta Johnson-Hurst 
April 6, 1937 - July 12, 2004


Laura Oleta Johnson-Hurst pass- ed away peacefully in her sleep at her 
residence in Stockton on Monday, July 12, 2004. She was 67 years old. Born 
Laura Oleta Marion on April 6, 1937 in Granite City, Illinois. Laura was active 
in her community and church. She was a county outreach worker, past president 
of 
the Lottie Grunsky School Parent Teacher Association and a foster parent until 
poor health forced her to quit. 
She is survived by 2 brothers, Eugene Marion and John Marion both of Stockton; 
3 sisters, Barbara Marion of Stockton, Gladys McCann of Dixon, Missouri and 
Juanita Burtch of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; 3 children, Laura Tsuda and 
Joseph Johnson both of Stockton and Garrett Johnson of Fast Rapids, Michigan; 6 
step-children, David Sanchez of Lathrop, Anne Larson, Michelle Huston and 
Raymond Hurst all of Stockton, Chris Hurst of Oakdale, Matthew Hurst of 
Oroville and husband Chester Hurst of Stockton. Also surviving are 25 
grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. 
There will be a Funeral Service on Friday, July 16, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. The 
service will be held at the Evergreen Chapel, Cherokee Memorial Park, Hwy 99 
and Harney Lane in Lodi. There will be a visitation on Thursday, July 15, 2004 
from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Visitation will be held at Cherokee Memorial 
Funeral Home, 831 Industrial Way in Lodi. Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home in 
charge of arrangements.
