David "Red" Walter Thomas 
July 11, 1927 - July 6, 2004



Mr. David "Red" Walter Thomas, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2004, in a Lodi 
hospital at the age of 76. Mr. Thomas was born July 11, 1927 in Stockton, 
California 
to David and Bertha Thomas. Mr. Thomas worked as a longshore- man for the Port 
of Stockton for 
30 years before retiring in 1981. He was a United States Air Corps. and WWII 
veteran. Mr. Thomas was a member of the ILWU Union Local No. 54 and Local No. 
91. 
He enjoyed gardening, reading, morning walks, and spending time with his family 
and friends. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by 2 sons, Dennis Thomas and wife Sheila of Lodi, Bruce Thomas 
and wife Masako 
of Sacramento; 1 brother, Robert Thomas of San Rafael; 4 grand-children, 
Elizabeth and Katherine Thomas of Sacramento, Kortnee and Kyle Thomas of Lodi 
and 
numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lynette 
Thomas early in 2004. 
A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, July 20, 2004, 1:00 p.m. at the Lodi 
Funeral Home. A private interment will take place at the Park View Cemetery in 
Manteca. A virtual register book may be signed at www.lodifuneralhome.com where 
memories may be shared.
