Sondra was the beloved sister of Roland Glen Richards, Jr. She liced for awhile in San Francisco, California then her familu moved to Stockton, Claifornia. She graduated from Victory Grammar School and started Stockton High School. She left before graduating and wanted to be a cosmetologist. She met her husband to be, Ken Brown, while visiting First Christian Church. She was 15 years old and he was 19 years old. The were engaged and married when she was 17 and he was 21. The were married on June 20, 1954 at Mayfair Christian Church. She graduated from Schneider Vocational School and became a licensed cosmetologist. She worked at the "Hi-Style" beauty shop on Country Club Blvd. in Stockton. At age 21, she started a family: a daughter, Debra Lynn and a son: Ken Brown, Jr. As the children grew up, she became a school yard mother, a Bluebird Leader, a Campfire Girl Leader, and belonged to the Girls Club, "Athena" She was the "mistress of ceremonies" at all formal events. She is preceded in death by a grandson. Ronald Kieth Nelson and a stepmother Genevieve Pearl Richards. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Jen C. Brown, Sr.; her daughter, Debra Lynn Brown Nelson; her son, Ken C. "Casey" Brown, Jr. and a granddaughter, Stephanie Marie Nelson and a daughter-in-law, Susan Ann Brown. Visitation will be Wednesday (today) from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Mortuary. Funeral Service will be Wednesday (today), at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Frisbie-Warren & Carroll Mortuary, 809 N.
