Blain Shipley Simonich 

July 2, 1912 - July 19, 2004



Blain Shipley Simonich, 92, passed away Monday, July 19, 2004. He was born to 
Frank and Grace Simonich of Linden and Lodi in Mina, Nevada on July 2, 1912. 
His family returned to Linden in 1914 where he was raised and educated. Blain 
was an outstanding athlete in his youth. An avid hunter, golfer, and fisherman. 
As a golfer he hit a hole in one at the age of 85 - a special moment. He 
retired from farming and 35 years as a Water Master with the East San Joaquin 
County Water Conservation District in 1976. He always had a smile and warm 
words for everyone he met.
He is survived by his sister, Bernice Grupe of Stockton, son, Don Simonich and 
daughter-in-law Karen Simonich, daughter, Carol Del Prete and son in law, Leroy 
Del Prete, all of Linden. Blain was especially proud of and enjoyed his 
grandchildren, Kim Arburua of Stockton, Joe Del Prete of Kelseyville, Jeff 
Simonich of Linden, Debbie Schwark of Linden and Brent Simonich of El Dorado 
Hills, great-grandchildren, Frank Arburua, III, Vincente Arburua, and Mitch 
Arburua, all of Stockton, Cole Schwark and Mallory Schwark of Linden and Blain 
Tyler Simonich of El Dorado Hills.
Graveside Services: Monday, July 26, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Linden Cemetery, 
Linden, CA. No visitation will be held. Committal at Linden Cemetery, Linden, 
CA.
Memorials may be sent to the Linden Unified Methodist Church.
