Billy Jack Gyles 
April 13, 1933 - July 23, 2004



Billy Jack Gyles, age 71, of Stockton passed away on Friday, July 23, 2004 in a 
nursing home. He was born April 13, 1933 in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Billy Jack 
was a psychiatric technician, working 11 years for the Stockton State Hospital 
and later for San Joaquin County. He worked four years as a security guard 
during the interim. Billy Jack was a dedicated member of Alcoholics Anonymous 
for over 19 years as well as a steadfast member of Central Church of Christ for 
19 years. Billy Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Eva Gyles; 
his brother Tim Gyles, and his sisters Elsie Morris and Naomi (Tiny) Gyles. 
Billy Jack is survived by Beverly, his cherished wife of over 19 years as well 
as his sister Elizabeth Lyon; brother and sister-in-law T.W. and Teresa Gyles; 
sister and brother-in-law, Leona and Will Williams, sister and brother in-law 
Cherrol and D.L. Moss, and many beloved nieces and nephews. He also leaves 
behind his step-sons, Robert Vallejo and David Vallejo; his daughter-in-law, 
Stephanie Vallejo, and his adored grandson Christian Vallejo.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2004, at 2:00 PM at 
Central Church of Christ, 4368 N. Sutter Street. Donations may be made to 
Central Church of Christ or St. Mary's Dining Hall in Billy Jack's memory.
